Denzins of the Dead of Winter Carnival.
For the interactive theatre portion of the “Dead of Winter Costume Carnival” I require two very different troupes. The two represent very different outlooks prevalent this time of year. The first the sad and winter weary and the later being the more positive and uplifting.
The first one a set of clowns. Background of the artists should be improvisation, drama, and comedy and to sell the “clown” part should know a few balancing/juggling tricks or take a good Charlie Chaplin tumble. The clowns represent emotional despair and apathy that embraces a lot of people in January after all the “big holidays” are over. The clowns may mirror what some audience member’s notice in their coworker’s family members or the nice folks who cut them off during rush hour. Post Santa Claus stress disorder for lack of any real term here - the winter blues incarnate. Big silly shoes optional.

The Second troupes are the fairy ballet/acrobats. They represent calm, Zen Shanti, good vibrations etc. The rainbow after the storm the optimism of the Aurora in the isolating north. They are rejuvenation. The winter thaw and muse that drives us into spring and the long days. They are comfort. They are the resilience of Spring yet to come.

Dysfunctional Clowns wanted for entertainment at a charity event.
Wanted 2-4 performers who can pass for black and whiteface Pierott clowns (Acrobatic, juggling handy with balloon animals would help).
But these are not your run of the mill clowns. These are disgruntled emo-goth clowns dressed all in black and white. They make dead balloon animals and mime out less then friendly things. They start rants about conspiracies and the futility of happiness in the winter because they are broke from the holidays, have S.A.D. and didn’t get a flu shot before winter started.  Etc. They rant and wine basically when they are not standing around looking forlorn or shell-shocked.

Yeah these are just some ideas. So some skill at improv would be welcome. And the details can be worked out if interested.

Upbeat Poi’s wanted to exercise winter demons from the audience - The Caffeinated Pixies
Happy and upbeat rejuvenated and lively.  They see the bright side in everything and the light at the end of the rainbow. They dress colourfully and should interact with the audience blowing bubbles and being playful. People with a dance background, ballet especially, would be preferred for this part. Possibly wearing face paint, body paint, fairy wings. They are the representation of the muse that follows the winter thaw and counters the clowns of despair. They can throw pixie dust around, offer cotton candy to people. etc
It would be nice to have some varied performance types (IE glass ball rolling/juggling, glow poi etc)There is a very small budget because it is a fundraiser for the NANA Foundation. Tryntje Horne who started the NANA Foundation works within the CRD to assist injured, abused and neglected animals and place them in forever homes.  They money raises helps to treat, rehabilitate and relocate abused animals. I have a lot more information if you need it.
